One dead, three injured in motorcycle collision

One man died while three others were injured after two motorcycles collided at Araneta Street in front of the South Bacolod General Hospital in Brgy. Pahanocoy, Bacolod City, early Wednesday morning, March 4.

Rescuers responding to the scene found four men lying on the road beside their fallen motorcycles.

Police identified the fatality as alias “Jay,” 31, the driver of a Yamaha NMAX and a resident of Brgy. Sum-ag, Bacolod City.

Authorities said he died from injuries sustained in the crash.

Injured were the driver of the other motorcycle, identified as alias “Acer,” a resident of Brgy. Tabunan, Bago City, and his two male passengers aged 42 and 45.

Initial investigation showed that the Yamaha NMAX was traveling southbound along the highway when the Kawasaki Barako motorcycle allegedly counter flowed, resulting in the collision.

The injured victims were brought to a hospital for treatment.

Both motorcycles involved in the accident are now impounded at Police Station 8 as investigation continues.*
