The number of Negros Island Region residents who sustained fireworks-related injuries have increased to 110.
Of those injured from Dec. 21 to Jan. 3, Negros Occidental had the highest number at 71, the Department of Health-NIR reported on Friday, Jan. 3.
Negros Oriental had 15 injured and Siquijor had two, it added.
Bacolod City has 22 blast victims involving patients aged 5 to 25, the City Health Office reported.
The CHO said 21 of those injured in Bacolod were male and one was female.
The DOH said 71 of the of the NIR victims sustained blast/burn injuries without amputation, 29 had eye injuries, two were injured in an explosion with no cuts and eye injury, five were blast victims with amputation and one had a cut in the body and an eye injury.*
