San Carlos City has a new police chief.
Lt. Col. Basman Macarangal replaced Lt. Col. Nazer Canja at turnover rites at the Kanlaon Hall of Camp Alfredo Montelibano Sr. in Brgy. Estefania, Bacolod City, on Tuesday, Jan. 7.
The ceremony was president by Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office Deputy Provincial Director for Administration, Lt. Col. Ariel Pico, and was attended by NOCPPO personnel and chiefs of police from various city and municipal stations virtually.
Canja, in his speech, thanked the San Carlos Police Station personnel for their support and commitment to serving the community.
Macarangal thanked San Carlos Mayor Renato Gustilo and the NOCPPO leadership for his new post.
He assured his commitment to foster strong collaboration with the community and local government to ensure the continued safety and security of San Carlos City.
Canja will replace Macarangal as the force commander of the 1st Negros Occidental Provincial Mobile Force Company.*
