The program, spearheaded by the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP), is part of the IBP’s advocacy for “Justice For Environment”, a Negros Power press release said.
IBP in Negros Occidental President Gerry Llena thanked Negros Power for being one of the major sponsors of the activity.
More than 500 individuals from various organizations, government employees, institutions, and Indigenous Peoples in the province participated in the tree planting.
It is estimated that over 2,000 trees were planted by the participants, which included Almaciga, Bacan, Narra, and Acacia species, the press release said.
This activity is one of the programs undertaken by Negros Power as a commitment to environmental conservation and the protection of natural resources, it added.*
