The entire Western Visayas, including Negros Occidental and Bacolod City, remain critical risk areas for COVID-19 under Alert Level 3, the Department of Heal reported Monday, January 31.
Negros Occidental’s COVID-19 cases grew by 224 percent and Bacolod’s by 234 percent in the past two weeks, the DOH reported.
But is also said that the health care utilization rate of Negros Occidental and Bacolod City was at moderate risk.
While Bacolod City has fully vaccinated 129.56 percent of its target population, Negros Occidental has vaccinated 59.44 percent, the DOH added.
Negros Occidental also partially vaccinated 9.63 percent of its target population and still has 30.93 percent unvaccinated, the DOH said.
The Provincial Incident Management Team said Negros Occidental had 171 new COVID-19 cases for a total of 3,392 active cases, and one death on Monday.
The Department of Health reported 144 new COVID -19 cases in Bacolod City for a total of 2,529 active cases on Monday.*
