The Bacolod City and Negros Occidental governments are all set to mark the country’s 126th Independence Day on Wednesday, June 12.
The theme of this year’s celebration is “Kalayaan. Kinabukasan. Kasaysayan (Freedom. Future. History.)”.
Bacolod’s Independence Day rites will start with a flag raising ceremony at the Bacolod City public plaza at 7 a.m. followed by a program and wreath laying at the Unknown Soldier monument.
A civic-military parade will follow.
The Negros Occidental provincial government will also mark Independence Day with a program at the Provincial Capitol Park and Lagoon in Bacolod City 8 a.m. on Wednesday.
Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson and Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer will deliver messages at the event.*
