The employee at Window No. 3 of the Bacolod Civil Registrar’s Office who allegedly was unkind to a male client processing a death certificate is a job order worker who could face non-renewal of her contract.

Civil Registrar’s Office head Hermilo Pauyon said it is possible that the JO worker, who has been assigned at his office for about a year, raised her voice because the microphone at Window 3 was not working.

Pauyon said he was at his office on November 3 when the incident was reported to have occurred and did not notice any raised voice or untoward incident.

Bacolod Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez said he was told there was no shouting at the client so he is looking for the CCTV footage of the incident.

He has ordered that the JO worker be removed from dealing with Civil Registrar’s Office clients, pointing out the importance of being courteous to those visiting city government offices.

He also ordered that the JO undergo training on how to deal with clients visiting the Civil Registrar’s Office.

The mayor called the employee to his office on Monday morning after a male resident reported to him on his radio program, “Isugid kay Mayor”, that the JO worker had been “suplada” and raised her voice at him when he processed a death certificate on November 3.*
