LTO moves to revoke license of rider in Murcia road rage case

The Land Transportation Office Negros Island Region has moved to revoke the license of a motorist involved in a road rage incident in Murcia, Negros Occidental.

LTO-NIR said a resolution recommending license revocation was served to the rider at its office in Brgy. Mansilingan, Bacolod City, on Monday, April 13.

The case stemmed from a viral incident where the rider was seen repeatedly punching a 67-year-old driver along the national highway in Brgy. Salvacion.

Initial reports showed the rider allegedly blocked the victim’s vehicle before physically assaulting him, causing injuries.

Authorities earlier issued a show cause order against the rider following the incident.

LTO-NIR said the resolution underscores its strict stance against reckless and violent behavior on the road.

They added that the contents of the resolution were explained to the respondent and the process was completed without incident.

The agency reminded motorists to remain disciplined and avoid aggressive behavior, warning that violations may result in administrative sanctions.*
