The Land Transportation Office in Negros Island Region has launched an investigation into a viral incident involving a vehicle that allegedly left a gas station without paying in Bacolod City.
A show cause order was served to the registered owner of a Mitsubishi Expander linked to the incident, a LTO statement said Tuesday, March 31.
The order was delivered to the owner’s residence in Murcia and received by a family member.
Officials later explained the contents of the order through a phone call.
The incident gained attention after a video circulated online showed the black and white Expander fleeing from the Red-K Gasoline Station in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City, February 27, without paying for P500 worth of gasoline.
The LTO said the move is part of efforts to ensure accountability and enforce traffic and transport regulations.*
