
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has announced an updated fare hike guide for Provincial Public Utility Buses (PUBs) effective Saturday, March 14.
The approved adjustments have already been reflected and incorporated in the newly issued Fare Guide to ensure uniform implementation across all provincial bus operators and routes, the LTFRB announced on its website Saturday.
Under the updated Fare Guide, the following provisional fare adjustments shall apply:
• PUB Provincial (Airconditioned) – Provisional fare increase of ₱0.35 per kilometer.
• PUB Provincial (Super Deluxe) – Provisional fare increase of ₱0.35 per kilometer.
• PUB Provincial (Deluxe) – Provisional fare increase of ₱0.35 per kilometer.
• PUB Provincial (Luxury) – Provisional fare increase of ₱0.45 per kilometer.
• PUB Provincial (Ordinary) – Provisional fare increase of ₱1.00 on the base fare and ₱0.30 on the succeeding kilometer.
These adjustments were approved through a provisional order dated Friday, March 13.
The LTFRB advised all provincial bus operators to strictly follow the updated Fare Guide and ensure that the approved fares are properly posted inside their units for the guidance of the riding public.
Passengers are likewise encouraged to verify the correct fares based on the official Fare Guide and report any violations or overcharging incidents to the LTFRB through its official communication channels, it added.
The LTFRB has approved fare hikes for jeepneys and buses, its chairperson Vigor Mendoza told Manila reporters.
The LTFRB will announce the amount of the jeep fare hike on Tuesday.*
