Let’s make Cha-cha happen, PH getting left behind: guv

Once and for all let’s make Charter change happen and find out if the public conform to the changes being proposed, Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson said Thursday, January 18.

“It’s always said that now is not the time so when will the time be?” he asked.

Lacson said he believes that there is total agreement that amendments to the economic provisions of the Constitution are needed.

“Right now we are getting left behind by our neighboring Southeast Asian countries…because the Constitution hampers direct foreign investments in the country,” he said.

“So let’s put it on the ballot and let the people already decide, we cannot always say that now is not the time but in the meantime we are getting left behind,” he said.

Lacson said he supports whatever means is adopted to amend the Constitution.*
