Former vice president Leni Robredo visited the Orange Project at the Art District in Barangay Mandalagan, Bacolod City, on Thursday, March 19.
Robredo was given a tour of the Orange Project exhibits by artists Charlie Co and Candy Nagrampa .
The Orange Project is celebrating its 20th anniversary and “Gahum kag Pagtubo (Power and Growth)” is the current exhibit at its main gallery.
Robredo, during her visit, viewed the works of seven women artists — Elwah Gonzales, Erika Mayo, Faye Abantao, Karina Broce-Gonzaga, Moreen Austria, Vincent Sarnate, and Zabiel Nemenzo.
“The exhibition showcases the unique narratives of seven women — exploring themes of strength and personal growth revealing the profound impact of lived experience on their identities and womanhood,” a press release from Phoebe Jabonete of the Orange Project said..
Adding another layer of artistic depth to the event was R.A. Tijing’s solo exhibition, “Landscapes, Portraits, and Still Life,” displayed on the gallery’s second level.
His artworks present a stark contrast, delving into the complexities of destruction and the enduring human spirit, the press release said.
Tijing’s mastery of traditional techniques and his ability to capture the essence of his subjects offer captivating stories of the recent times.

Robredo’s presence served as a powerful reminder of the importance of supporting and celebrating the arts, and her visit will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on the artists and art community of Bacolod City, the press release said.
The event solidified Orange Project’s legacy as a vital cultural hub, promising many more years of vibrant artistic expression, it added.*
