Lacson, Lizares ink agreement for use of track oval in Talisay

Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and Talisay City Mayor Neil Lizares signed a Deed of Usufruct for the use of a track oval owned but the provincial government in Brgy. Zone 12 Poblacion, Talisay City, at rites at the Capitol Social Hall in Bacolod City Tuesday afternoon, March 16.

The property is a 30,000-square meter lot located at the Rafael B. Lacson Memorial High School oval, which the Talisay City government plans to use as training facility for school athletes, a press release from the Capitol said.

Lizares said he will develop the property for sports and educational activities for the benefit of more Negrense students and athletes.

Former governor Alfredo Marañon had intended to use the property as the site of the Negros First Global Institute of Technology, but the move drew protests from students and alumni of the high school.

Lacson has since found alternative site for the NFGIT in Talisay City.

The signing of the deed of usufruct today was witnessed by Negros Occidental Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz, and Talisay City Administrator Jonathan Ealdama and was supported by Talisay City SP Members, Daniel Tribaco, Carl Lizares Randy Ereneta, Rolin Meliton, Gabriel Villacin, Resty Tuvilla, and William Malan, SK Federation President Marcky Nick Pelaez, and Executive Assistant for Finance, Nicolai Jalandoni, the press release said.*
