The number of Negros Occidental provincial government employees who tested positive for drugs is not alarming, Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson said on Wednesday, Dec. 20.
Twenty out of the close to 4,000 provincial government employees tested positive for drugs this month.
“It is not alarming but they will suffer the consequences, that was their choice to do what they did,” Lacson said.
Lacson said those who tested positive still have to undergo confirmatory tests this month.
Regular provincial government employees who tested positive for drugs will go through administrative hearings, he said.
The contracts of job order, casual and contract of service workers found positive for drugs will not be renewed, he added.*
