A laborer was shot dead while he was resting outside his house in Purok Narra 3, Brgy. Tampalon, Kabankalan City, Friday night, February 23.
The 49-year-old man was allegedly shot by a 43-year-old resident of Purok Narra 3, the police, who withheld their names, said.
The victim was resting on a bench outside his house due to drunkenness when the suspect arrived and shot him without any provocation, the police reported.
The victim was hit on the neck and was brought to the Lorenzo Zayco Memorial District Hospital where he was declared dead, while the suspect fled.*
