Javi leads Victorias midnight victory run, fireworks usher in 27th charter anniversary

Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez led the first-ever Midnight Victory Run, a new addition to the annual Kadalag-an Festival of Victorias City, on Thursday, March 20.

Benitez, in his message, said the victory run is an exciting way to promote health and fitness among Victoriasanons while fostering a stronger sense of community.

The event gathered more than 400 runners from Victorias and nearby cities and municipalities.

Participants competed in four race categories — 3KM men and women and 5KM men and women — with the top five finishers in each category receiving awards, a press release from Victorias City said.

Participants also had the chance to win prizes in a raffle, where gift certificates, T-shirts, mugs, and other giveaways were distributed.

More than just a race, the Midnight Victory Run served as a platform to promote health, wellness, and camaraderie among Victoriasanons, the press release said.

Families, fitness enthusiasts, and even first-time runners joined the event, embracing the opportunity to celebrate the city’s progress in a unique and active way.

As runners crossed the finish line, they were greeted with applause and a celebratory spirit that carried through the night.

The run was organized by the City Tourism Office, led by City Tourism Officer Mariane Rica Calseña and Race Director Angelito Santillan.

The night culminated with the Grand Salubong Fireworks Display that lit up the Victorias City Public Plaza skyline for over 10 minutes to officially welcome the city’s 27th Charter Anniversary.

Meanwhile, Natasha Francinn Myles Soriano​ was  crowned Sidlak Kadalag-an Queen 2025 Friday night, March 21.

Princess Raiza Mae Dazo was first runner up and  Christine Jean Inao was second  runner up.*
