Lin-ay sang La Castellana Chermaine Faith Semillano was voted muse of the media during the Lin-ay sang Negros Press Presentation at the SM City Bacolod Atrium, Saturday morning, March 22.
Semillano bested 26 other candidates from the towns and cities of Negros Occidental who were asked questions on various issues and current events by the media and bloggers.
Semillano was asked – What qualities define a true Lin-ay sang Negros, and in what ways do you embody these values?
Semillano answered that a true Lin-ay sang Negros embodies the values of resilience, compassion, inspiration, and rises above challenges and uplifts others along the way.
“I embody those values because I am also a bullied child and I did not let it define me”, she said, adding “I turned my weaknesses into strength and I stand here right now embodying the values of a true Lin-ay”.
“I want to inspire others along the way, to convince little girls that we are never disqualified from our dreams. And to all little girls that are watching here right now, I want you to know that you are loved, and you are unstoppable”.
In the afternoon, the 27 candidates presented their colorful costumes that embodied their respective towns and cities during the Festival Costume Presentation.
Semillano bagged three corporate awards during the Corporate Q&A and Talent Competition at the Ayala Malls Capitol Centra on Sunday.
Semillano was hailed as Miss Falcor Marketing, Miss EGY, and Miss GCash.
Meanwhile, Lin-ay sang Manapla Julianah Cassandra Makilan was named Miss Solana, Miss Saludad, and Miss La Jefa.
Lin-ay sang Isabela Lyrain Dela Torre was Miss L’Fisher, Linay sang Hinigaran Susmita Angelique Ramos was Miss Emerald Thai, and Lin-ay sang Binalbagan was Miss Metro Inn and Miss Vasoh-K Skincare.
The Lin-ay sang Negros is one of the highlights of the Panaad sang Negros Festival and the coronation night will be at the Panaad Stadium in Brgy. Mansilingan, Bacolod City, on Friday, March 28.*
