Human skeletal remains found in Murcia sugarcane field

Human skeletal remains were found in a sugarcane field in Murcia, Negros Occidental on Saturday morning, May 30.

Police said the remains were discovered at around 8:30 a.m. at Hacienda Rojas in Brgy. Blumentritt.

The Murcia police said they  received a report at around 9:30 a.m. from alias “Ronilo,” the overseer of the hacienda.

Initial investigation showed one of the sugarcane workers discovered the skeletal remains while applying fertilizer in the field.

The worker informed the overseer, who then inspected the area and confirmed the presence of the remains.

Murcia police proceeded to the area with the duty investigator to verify the report.

Police requested assistance from Scene of the Crime Operatives for the possible identification of the remains.
