The Bacolod City police seized 11.17 kilograms of shabu and 117.53 grams of marijuana, with a combined estimated street value of nearly ₱76 million from January to May 2026.

Police data shows that authorities conducted 269 anti-illegal drug operations, resulting in the arrest of 319 individuals and the filing of 451 cases, a press release from the Bacolod City Communications Office (BCCO) said.

Among those arrested were 235 alleged drug pushers, 82 alleged drug users, and two minors.

A substantial portion of the seized illegal drugs came from what the BCPO described as the largest buy-bust operation ever recorded in Bacolod City, resulting in the confiscation of more than 6.8 kilograms of shabu in a single operation, Col. Eugene Rebadomia, Bacolod police director, said at a press conference called by  Bacolod City Mayor Greg Gasataya on Saturday, May 30.

“Our message is clear: we will continue to intensify our operations against illegal drugs and all forms of criminality. We will not stop until those who violate the law are brought before the courts and our communities remain safe,” Rebadomia said.

The mayor also announced that Bacolod City is awaiting final clearance for the localized implementation of the Unified 911 Emergency Response System.

The initiative forms part of the Philippine National Police’s efforts to strengthen emergency response capabilities throughout the Negros Island Region through the Unified 911 Hotline.

Gasataya explained that the city has already completed the necessary preparations, including personnel training, communications equipment, information technology requirements, software installation, and the establishment of an operations center.

“We already have the trained personnel, the operations center, the IT requirements, communication equipment, and the software is already in place. What we are waiting for is the certification to go live and the final instruction from the DILG,” he said.

The mayor assured residents and visitors that the city government remains committed to strengthening emergency response services and public safety measures throughout Bacolod.

Rebodonia said the 911  program will be launched  Wednesday.*
