Himamaylan City broke ground for the 5.90-kilometer farm-to-market road at Barangay Carabalan worth P140 million through the Philippine Rural Development Project of the Department of Agriculture on Thursday, Jan. 9.
The road, which will bridge Sitio Labhid and Sitio Casipungan, is eyed to provide a faster and safer access to local farmers and producers in upland Himamaylan, Mayor Raymund Tongson said in a press release.
Tongson led the groundbreaking with Department of Agriculture Negros Island Region Executive Director Albert Barogo.
Himamaylan City also inaugurated its P10 million Swine Multiplier Farm and Techno Demo Farm at Sitio Culban in Barangay Carabalan funded under the Integrated National Swine Production Initiatives for Recovery and Expansion Program of the DA on Wednesday, Jan. 8.*
