The Negros Occidental provincial government is sending its amphibious dredger to Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, to help mitigate its flooding problems, Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson said on Thursday, Jan. 9

Flooding incidents have hit Cadiz City, the latest of which was on Wednesday, Dec. 8.

Lacson said he received a letter from the Cadiz City government asking to borrow the provincial government’s amphibious dredger, which he granted.

The rivers are very shallow already and need to be deepened, especially at the mouth, to hasten the exit of water, he said.

Meanwhile, face-to-face classes at all levels in public and private schools in Cadiz City will resume Friday,  Jan. 10,  the city government announced.

Flooding had caused the cancelation of face-to-face classes on Wednesday and Thursday.*
