Guv prefers Negros remains under AL2

Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson prefers that Negros Occidental remains under Alert Level 2 even if its COVID-10 cases are dropping.

“I always like to stay cautious, especially during a campaign,” he said Thursday, February 24.

Alert Level 2 is a reminder to everyone that COVID-19 is still around, “our numbers are going down but anytime they could go up again if we are not careful”, Lacson said.

Going down to Alert Level 1 would mean everything will be back to normal, he said.

Negros Occidental had 15 new COVID-19 cases for a total of 522 active cases, the Provincial Incident Management Team reported Thursday.

The province also had five new COVID-19 deaths, it added.*
