Governor to campaign for his presidential bet

Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson said he will campaign for his presidential candidate.

Lacson is going for Vice President Leni Robredo but the officials of San Carlos City are supporting Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Sarah Duterte Carpio, Mayor Renato Gustilo said on Wednesday, February 23.

“It’s okay, that’s their personal choice, they’ll campaign for their candidate, I’ll campaign for my candidate,” Lacson said on Thursday.

Lacson, who did not name his candidate, said he was informed that Robredo and her team will be in Negros next month, and if he is invited he will join them.

When former representative Julio Ledesma IV manifested that he is for the UniTeam, officials in the first district followed, Lacson said.

Gustilo said they respect the decision of the governor but San Carlos City is going all out for Marcos and Carpio along with Rep. Gerardo Valmayor (Negros Occidental, 1st District).

Lacson was the former mayor of San Carlos City.*
