The Negros Occidental provincial government employees are hoping Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson will announce the amount of their Christmas bonuses on his birthday.

Renelo Lastierre, Progressive Alliance of Capitol Employees (PACE) president, said that they are expecting the governor to make the announcement during the switch-on of the Capitol Christmas lights on his birthday on Monday, December 13.

PACE has endorsed four probable sources of their bonuses, which are the Collective Negotiation Incentive that is allowed up to P25,000, the Productivity Enhancement Incentive that is usually P5,000, Incentive Benefits for Exemplary Services and the Service Recognition Incentive, Lastierre said.

According to the budget officer, the provincial government has sufficient funds for the bonuses of its employees, Lastierre said.

Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz earlier said the bonuses of the provincial government employees will not be lower than the P40,000 each they received last year.

The employees are happy that despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the provincial government officials have seen their sacrifices, especially of the health workers and frontliners, Lastierre said.

They are hoping they are granted the maximum allowable bonuses, he said.*
