Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson challenged the members of the Philippine Councilors League – Negros Occidental to do more and better as the May 2022 elections approaches.

“Let our commitment and hard work be our seed, and the affirmation of a reelection be our recompense. Times may be demanding, but always remember that sincere and committed public service is its own reward,” Lacson said at the PCL Negros Occidental year-end assembly as the SMX Convention Center in Bacolod City on Friday, November 19.

The PCL-Negros Occidental is led by its president, Board Member Ryan Gamboa.

The theme for its assembly is: “PCL Negros Occidental: Strong and Unified Leaders of Change and Progress Amidst Pandemic”.

The event was participated in by PCL officers and members from the different cities and municipalities of the province. DILG – Negros Occidental OIC Provincial Director Roselyn Quintana was the guest of honor.

The activity started with an opening program followed by talks on Understanding Issues on Good Governance, National Election Updates Amidst the Pandemic, and Tourism Resilience and Sustainability in the Post Pandemic World.

Lacson, in his speech, said the pandemic tested the courage of public officials and their commitment as servants of the people.

“More than a year and a half into the pandemic, we don’t have the luxury of giving up, for it is our solemn duty to protect our constituents in this time of crisis and to steer our province and country to recovery,” he said.*
