The Bacolod City government caught four travelers from Manila at the BREDCO Port using fake COVID-19 vaccination cards on Tuesday, Em Ang, Emergency Operations Center executive director, said Wednesday, December 8.
A traveler from Manila headed for Himamaylan City was also caught at the Bacolod Silay Airport with a fake negative RT-PCR test result on Tuesday, Zeaphard Caelian, Negros Occidental Provincial Incident Management Team head, said.
Caelian said the Himamaylan resident has been quarantined and his case was referred to the Provincial Legal Office for action.
Ang has also referred the case of the four travelers with fake Bacolod COVID-19 vaccination cards to City Legal Officer Joselito Bayatan for appropriate action.
The four with Sagay City addresses have been swabbed for RT-PCR tests and are on home quarantine, she said.
Bayatan said the four will be liable for falsification of public documents for using fake vaccination cards.
Ang said travelers who do not have Bacolod COVID-19 vaccination cards are required to present vaccination certificates from the Department of Health or Bureau of Quarantine, which can be verified for their authenticity.*
