A 55-year-old force multiplier was shot dead while plowing a field in a mountainous area of Brgy. Santol, Binalbagan, Negros Occidental, Monday morning, Oct. 5.
Binalbagan police chief Maj. Joey Mara identified the victim only as alias “Jolito,” a resident of the said barangay.
Mara said the victim was working in a field at Sitio Kapaklan at around 7 a.m. when he was shot by still unidentified assailants.
The victim died at the scene.
Mara said police have yet to determine how many assailants were involved and are still waiting for the results of the crime scene investigation.
Authorities are also examining the victim’s background as part of the investigation.
Mara said the victim had no record at the Binalbagan Police Station.
Police have yet to establish the motive for the killing and the identities of the suspects.*
