A fish vendor was arrested after he was caught in possession of suspected shabu worth P136,000 during a buy-bust operation in Brgy. Alicante, E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental, Friday afternoon, July 25.
The suspect was alias “Rogel,” 44, married, and a resident of Brgy. Manta-angan, EB Magalona, the police reported.
The suspect allegedly handed over a sachet of suspected shabu to a poseur-buyer during the operation at Purok Katipunan in Brgy. Alicante.
Authorities also recovered five more sachets of suspected shabu from his possession, as well as the P500 marked money used in the transaction and other non-drug paraphernalia.
The confiscated illegal drugs weighed about 20 grams, the police said.
The evidence was brought to the Negros Occidental Provincial Forensic Unit for laboratory examination, while the suspect remains in police custody as charges are being prepared against him.*
