PMaj. Ernesto Etorne Jr. has assumed office as the new officer-in-charge of the Victorias City Police Station.
Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office Director Col. Dennis Wenceslao led the assumption-of-office ceremony and symbolic turnover of command attended by Victorias Vice Mayor Francis Frederick Palanca, local officials and police personnel on Tuesday, July 21.
Etorne thanked police officials for the trust placed in him and pledged to lead the station with integrity, dedication and professionalism while strengthening partnerships with the community.
Palanca assured the city government’s support for the programs and initiatives of the Philippine National Police.
Etorné has served in the PNP for 20 years and is a member of the Philippine National Police Academy Class of 2010.
His previous assignments include the 901st Regional Mobile Force Battalion, Police Regional Office 9, National Police Training Institute, Police Regional Office-Calabarzon, Intelligence Group and Manila Police District Station 3.
He also served as chief of the Collection and Training Section of Regional Finance Unit 3.
In a Facebook post, the Victorias City government said Etorne will prioritize increased police visibility, expanded security coverage in urban and far-flung communities, closer coordination with barangay officials and stronger enforcement against illegal drugs.
His plans also include promoting road safety and traffic discipline through dialog with tricycle operators and drivers, and strengthening police-community relations through engagements with schools.
Wenceslao urged the station’s personnel to continue serving with integrity, discipline and teamwork in maintaining peace and order in Victorias City.*
