The Department of Health (DOH) Negros Island Region Center for Health Development has granted the Negros Occidental provincial government permission to expand and renovate the Teresita L. Jalandoni Provincial Hospital (TLJPH) in Silay City, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said on Saturday, June 21.
The official permit was approved and signed by DOH Regional Director Razel Nikka M. Hao on June 1.
“We can now improve our old emergency room, laboratory, pharmacy, pedia ward, pedia ICU and admitting section,” Diaz, who was recently appointed Officer-In-Charge of the Provincial Health Office – Hospital Operations Services in a concurrent capacity, said.
The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit will have five beds, pediatric ward will have 44 beds and the tertiary clinical laboratory will have a blood bank.
“Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson directed us to rearrange our old hospitals to make them more ergonomic and modern, Diaz said.
Meanwhile, a beautiful image of Danjugan Island brings a calming touch to the CT Scan room at TLJPH, helping ease anxiety and providing comfort to patients during their procedure, Diaz said.
Small details like this can make a big difference in the patient experience, he said.*
