Six persons from Mindanao attempting to enter Negros Occidental via Kabankalan City on Friday, November 26, with no travel documents were intercepted and will be quarantined, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said.
The six on board a Ceres bus were intercepted at a checkpoint at the Tabugon border in Kabankalan City, and made to disembark.
The six entered Negros Island through Dumaguete City and were headed for Kabankalan City, Diaz said.
The Negros Occidental provincial government requires travelers entering Negros Occidental from the Oriental side to have an S-PaSS and a vaccination card for the fully vaccinated and negative RT-PCR test results for the unvaccinated as a deterrent against the spread of COVID-19.
The six will be held at the Silay City quarantine facility and tested for COVID-19 after five days at their own expense, Diaz said.*
