Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson assured on Friday, July 18, that the Central Philippine State University (CPSU) will not lose its Moises Padilla Campus.

There is no problem, CPSU will keep its Moises Padilla Campus because the provincial government is buying the 2-hectare property that it sits on from former Moises Padilla mayor Francisco Nazareno, he said.

The deed of sale for the P25 million property has been completed, the payment will be made as soon as Nazareno submits some documentary requirements, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said.

Lacson said the purchase of the property was delayed by the election ban during the May polls.

Moises Padilla Mayor Ella Garcia Yulo on Wednesday said she sought the help of Lacson to save the CPSU Moises Padilla Campus.

Garcia-Yulo said the 10-year Deed of Usufruct that allowed CPSU to use the property of Nazareno expired in 2017.*
