A policeman died after the motorcycle he was driving accidentally hit the highway railing at Crossing Roman, Brgy. Tabao Rizal in San Enrique, Negros Occidental, 10:35 p.m.on Friday, January 26.
The victim was identified as Pat. Israel Mahilum, 35, of Binalbagan, Negros Occidental, an intelligence officer assigned to the Pontevedra Police Station.
The victim had gone to Iloilo City to process his application for a promotion and was on his way home when the accident happened.
Investigation showed that while the victim was riding his motorcycle from north to south direction, he swerved and lost his balance which resulted to his hitting the railing.
He sustained injuries on his head and his body and was rushed to the Valladolid District Hospital, but was declared dead on arrival.*
