A senior citizen died when a wingvan  sideswiped his tricycle  in Brgy. Camingawan, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, on Monday, Feb. 24. Marcelino Largo, 62,  of Brgy. Hagtu, Mabinay, Negros Oriental, died after his tricycle was hit by a wing van driven by Reynaldo Obligado, 43, of Sitio Maagay, Inarawan, Antipolo City. Both  vehicles came from Brgy. Camingawan and were headed for Mabinay when the wingvan attempted to overtake the tricycle which was at the outer lane of the road, the police said.. The victim was thrown  off the tricycle on impact causing serious injuries. 196 negative for drugs at Bacolod jail: PDEA

PDEA agents searching for drugs at the jail.* A total of 196 persons deprived of liberty and jail personnel tested negative for drugs at the Metro Bacolod Jail of the Bacolod City Police Office Compound in Brgy. Singcang-Airport, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency reported on Monday, Feb. 24. They conducted random drug tests as part of their greyhound operations last week, the  PDEA-6 said. Tested  were 146 PDLs and 56 jail personnel. The PDEA agents also conducted a search and seizure of contraband within the facility and  no illegal drugs were found. The operation was conducted by PDEA-Negros Occidental with the PDEA-Seaport Interdiction Unit, and BJMP personnel.*
