Three persons were killed during Holy Week in two cities and a town in Negros Occidental.A Talisaynon was allegedly shot by a Bantay Bukid member in Sitio Malasaga, Brgy. Katilingban, Talisay City, on Black Saturday, April 19.Alias “Arnold”, 43, of Hacienda Hiyanghiyang in Brgy. A man who previously faced a carnapping case was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Purok Boulevard, Brgy. 14, Bacolod City on Black Saturday, April 19.Arrested was John Rolene Vargas, 21, of Purok Boulevard, Bacolod Police Station 1 reported.Recovered from him were 15 grams of suspected shabu estimated to cost P102,000, and the buy-bust money, the police said.The suspect is now detained at Police Station 1.*

A 49-year-old woman from Bago City is the seventh dengue fever casualty in Negros Occidental, the Provincial Health Office (PHO) reported.There were 1,603 dengue cases in Negros Occidental from Jan. 1 to April 5, the PHO said in a report furnished by Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson to the media on Tuesday, April 15.The cases this year are 381.38 percent higher than the 333 cases in the same period last year.Bago City still has the most dengue cases at 320, the PHO said.The 11 to 20 years old age group had the most number of dengue cases.The previous dengue casualties were an 18-year-old male from Isabela, 33-year-old male from Murcia, 13-year-old male from San Carlos City, 17-year-old male from Ilog, 9-year-old female from Silay City and a 16-year-old male from Manapla.Lac...
