The STI West Negros University Team was named champion of the Abanse Negrense Governor’s Cup 5-on-5 Basketball Tournament, held at the STI WNU Gymnasium in Bacolod City Saturday, December 10.The Dumaguete City Team was 1st runner-up while Bacolod City-ABB was 2nd runner up.The tournament, spearheaded by the Provincial Sports Office, was held as a tribute to the late Oscar “Dodong” Bascon’s contributions to Negros basketball.Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson led the awarding of the winners together with former Board Member Agustin Ernesto Bascon and Carminia Gatuslao – Bascon, and Provincial Sports Coordinator Anthony Carlo Agustin.*
