Police arrested the Negros Island Region’s third  most wanted person in Canlaon City, Negros Oriental, on Tuesday afternoon, July 7.The accused was identified as alias “Jon,” 53, a resident of Sitio Kalubihan, Brgy. Linothangan, Canlaon City.Personnel of the Canlaon City Police Station arrested him at around 2:53 p.m. in Brgy. Mabigo during a manhunt operation.Police said the arrest was carried out by virtue of a warrant for murder.The accused allegedly conspired with other suspects in the fatal shooting of a victim in Brgy. Police arrested Negros Island Region’s 8th  most wanted person in Siaton, Negros Oriental, on Monday evening, July 6.The suspect, identified only by his alias "Yoyo", was arrested in Barangay 3.He was described as a 28-year-old single farmer.The police said "Yoyo" resided in the same household as the minor victim. The suspect allegedly took advantage of a situation when the two were left alone inside the residence.The assault occurred after the victim approached the suspect to borrow his cellular phone, which the accused reportedly used as an opportunity to commit the sexual abuse, the police said.Following his capture, the accused was fully informed of the nature of his arrest and was apprised of his constitutional rights in a language he understands.Police said...

Police arrested Negros Oriental’s No. 5 provincial most wanted person during a manhunt operation in Mabinay on Sunday morning, July 5.The accused was apprehended at around 8:10 a.m. in Brgy. Police arrested four individuals and recovered P2.639 million worth of suspected smuggled cigarettes following a pursuit operation that ended in two separate road crashes in Vallehermoso, Negros Oriental, early Saturday, July 4.The operation began at around 3 a.m. after personnel of the Guihulngan City Police Station and the Regional Special Operations Group pursued two Toyota Revo vehicles allegedly transporting smuggled cigarettes.The Vallehermoso Municipal Police Station established a checkpoint to intercept the vehicles.Police later learned that the two vehicles had separately crashed in Brgy.
