A 32-year-old nun needs financial help to undergo an urgent kidney transplant.Sister Psyche Esclamada Examen is a member of the Servants of Mary congregation who care for the poor who are sick in Barangay Handumanan, Bacolod City.She was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease four years ago.“My two kidneys are smaller than the normal size and are unable to function properly as time passes,” she said.She is taking oral medications to slow down the deterioration of her kidneys, and undergoes regular laboratory tests and consultations with her doctor.“Only 17 percent of my kidneys were working during my latest visit to my nephrologist who advised me to undergo dialysis or have a kidney transplant,” Sister Psyche said.She wants to have a kidney transplant but it will be ...
