Central Negros Electric Cooperative announced Wednesday, January 19, that its average residential rate for January is P7.5990/kWh, a decrease of P1.1771/kWh, from last month’s rate of P8.7761/kWh.The P1.1771/kWh rate decrease was attributed to the reduction in generation, transmission and system loss charges and the implementation of August 2021 WESM power bill reduction amounting to P183.225 million net of Value Added Tax among other factors, Jose Taniongon, Ceneco OIC officer general manager, said in a press release.The WESM reduction was due to a Energy Regulation Commission letter dated Sept. 20, 2021 to mitigate the impact of the outage of Cebu-Negros submarine cable, he said.*
