          Two  boys aged 14 and 15  died when a truck hit them  in Mucia,  Negros Occidental, at about 3:30 p.m. Thursday, May 15.          The brakes of the truck carrying sugarcane failed   on a downhill  sharp curve in Purok 9, Barangay Minoyan, causing it to hit a computer shop, PMaj. Sherwin Fernandez, Murcia police chief, said.          The 15-year-old boy was pinned beneath the front of the truck, and the 14-year-old child was thrown on the side of the road on impact, Fernandez said.          The driver identified only as alias Gerry from Bago City surrendered at the Murcia Police Station.*...

A couple and their son were shot to death as they were about to have dinner in Sitio Guinam-an, Brgy. Buenavista, Murcia, in Negros Occidental, Thursday night.Killed were Nelde Celayes, 59, his wife, Josefine, 60, and their son Juvy, 33.“We heard the gunshots at about 7 last night but we thought that the sound came from firecrackers so we did not bother to check on what was happening”, neighbor Eric Musico said on Friday.Maj. The residence of a media man was allegedly strafed  by an unidentified suspect in Brgy. Zone 12-A in Talisay City, Negros Occidental, on Sunday, April 20.Broadcaster  Rey Siason, 59,  told the police multiple  gunshots were fired at his house at about 11:20 p.m. of Easter Sunday.The victim and his family were sleeping and  were awakened when  they heard multiple gunshots, the police said.The police recovered 13 fired cartridge cases of a .45 caliber gun  and eight  deformed bullets from the house.In 2019, a similar harassment incident was also reported by the victim.*

A senior citizen died when a truck rammed into his fruit stand on the side of the national highway in Brgy.
