Two brothers and their friend died after a truck swerved and ran over their motorcycles at the highway in Hacienda Nieva, Brgy. To-oy, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental, about 7 a.m. Tuesday, March 4.
Brothers Jenward Lirazan, 29, and Ceazar Lirazan, 25, of Brgy. Tagukon, and their friend Danny Delalinia, 25, of Brgy. Carol-an, Kabankalan City, died when they were hit by the truck driven by Benjie Agoilo of Isabela.
The driver of the truck that was going to Kabankalan City attempted to overtake two SUVs and hit the two motorcycles on the opposite lane, the police said.
The driver attempted to stop the truck but failed causing him to hit the motorcycles and swerve towards a sugarcane field.
The victims were brought to the Gov. Valeriano Gatuslao Memorial District Hospital in Himamaylan where they were declared dead.
The suspect voluntarily surrendered to the police .
If the victims’ families file a case against the suspect, he will face charges for reckless imprudence resulting to multiple homicide, the police said.*
