Capitol honors outstanding Negrenses in fight vs. Covid

Outstanding Negrenses were honored for their roles in the fight against COVID-19 at the Pasidungog 2021, which was part of the 123rd Negros Day celebration, at the Capitol Social Hall in Bacolod City, Friday night, November 5.

Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Lacson said that for the past years, the awardees of the Pasindungog 2021 were outstanding Negrenses in their individual fields of expertise, but in the light of the present circumstances, the provincial government would like to acknowledge and give honor to the outstanding offices and groups for their unwavering courage, commitment and consistency in serving the Negrenses and the province amidst COVID-19 crisis of historic proportions.

The governor thanked the awardees for being the embodiment of selfless service to the Negrenses.

The 2021 Outstanding Negrense awardees were the 31 LGU COVID-19 Response Teams, Hospital Operations Department led by Dr. Girlie Pinongan, Provincial Health Office led by Dr. Ernell Tumimbang, Disaster Management Program Division led by Dr. Zeaphard Caelian, Information Communication technology Division led by Jose Larry Sanor, Mambukal Resort led by Cheryl Decena, Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, 303rd Infantry Brigade, Philippine Army, Bureau of Fire Protection – Negros Occidental, Philippine Coast Guard – Negros Occidental, and Philippine Red Cross Negros Occ. – Bacolod City Chapter.

“To the present day Negrenses, as we pay homage to the heroes of Cinco de Noviembre, it is our obligation to give back in gratitude, not in words but through actions by being conscientious, active and responsible members of our community and society,” Lacson said.*
