The Negros Occidental provincial government has purchased a 10-hectare property beside its Mambukal Resort and Wildlife Sanctuary in Minoyan, Murcia, for P80 million to preserve the seven falls and the water source of the resort.

The property purchased from the Mambukal Real Estate Development Corp. includes the seven falls at the resort, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said Wednesday, Dec. 27.

More reforestation will be conducted, and additional hotel features, hiking, running, biking and horse back riding trails will be constructed at the resort in 2024, he said.

Tram and zip lines are also being planned, he added.

The 10 hectares will also serve as an eco-corridor from the Mt. Kanlaon Natural Park to the Mambukal sanctuary, he said.

The additional property will ensure that Mambukal’s seven falls and water supply will be preserved for generations to come, Diaz said.

Mambukal is going to become a world class resort, he said.*
