Balay Silangan opens in EB Magalona

The unveiling of the Balay Silangan marker in EB Magalona.*

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-6 opened the 75th Balay Silangan Reformation Facility in Western Visayas at the Tumandok Village in  Brgy. Sto. Niño, E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental, on  Thursday, June 6.

The opening of the facility was led by Mayor Marvin Malacon together with PDEA-6 Assistant Director Marjorie Ballesteros, PDEA representatives, and police personnel.

The program was highlighted by the signing of the memorandum of agreement and the unveiling of the Balay Silangan Marker.

The implementation of the Balay Silangan Program is pursuant to Dangerous Drugs Board Regulation No. 3, series of 2022, entitled “Enhancing the Balay Silangan Reformation Program – Guidelines for Community Involvement in Reforming Drug Offenders into Self-Sufficient and Law-Abiding Members of Society”.

Malacon thanked the  the different agencies that made the Balay Silangan Reformation Center possible.

“The center aims to provide a holistic and rehabilitative approach for individuals in conflict with the law, emphasizing their reformation and reintegration into society”, the mayor said.*
