Bacolodnon meted life for sale of shabu to cop

A Bacolod resident was sentenced to life imprisonment on Friday, May 13, for the sale of shabu to a police intelligence officer for P300.

Executive Judge Raymond Joseph Javier of the Bacolod Regional Trial Court Branch 52 found Jason Buyco Dalisay guilty beyond reasonable doubt for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2022, and meted the penalty of life imprisonment and ordered him to pay a fine of P500,000.

He was also sentenced to 12 years and eight months as minimum to 17 years and eight months as maximum imprisonment for possession of .285 gram of shabu and ordered to pay a fine of P300,000.

Dalisay was arrested in a buy bust operation after he sold .094 gram of shabu to a policeman at his house at Purok Celita, Barangay Alijis, Bacolod City, on Dec. 2, 2019.

On his arrest .285 gram of shabu was also recovered from his possession, the court was told.

Dalisay’s defense of frame-up must bow down to the candid and positive testimonies of the government witnesses, the judge said.

Under RA 9165 the penalty for the sale of shabu regardless of the quantity or purity is life imprisonment, the judge pointed out.

The judge ordered the turnover of the confiscated shabu to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, and the immediate transfer of Dalisay to the National Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City.*
