A one-year-old baby drowned in a tub in his home at Brgy. Zone-2, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, Thursday afternoon, November 18.
The police went to the area after the victim’s 32-year-old uncle discovered the baby’s lifeless body in the tub that was filled with water.
Lt. Gina Fernandez, Cadiz police deputy chief, said the uncle was looking after the baby who was just playing.
However, his attention was caught by the children playing outside their home by the river. When he looked again at his nephew he was already drowning in the tub.
The baby was brought to a hospital in Cadiz City but was pronounced dead on arrival.*
