Ayala opening e-vehicles showroom, eyes 100-hectare solar farm in Negros

The Ayala Group  is opening a showroom for electric vehicles in Talisay City and eyeing  the  setting up of a 100-hectare solar farm in Negros Occidental,  Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson said on Friday, May  24.

Tycoon Fernando Zobel de Ayala of Ayala Corporation and the chief executive officers of the Ayala Group of Companies met with Lacson at the Governor’s Office at the Capitol in Bacolod City Friday morning. 

Ayala is setting up  a showroom in Talisay City  for  BYD electric vehicles that it plans to push in Negros Occidental, Lacson said.

They are also looking for areas for the  setting up of recharging stations, he said. 

Lacson said the provincial government that is pushing for a shift towards renewable energy may also introduce E-vehicles into its  Capitol cab system. 

The governor  said the Ayala executives  are looking for 100 hectares of land in Negros to set up a solar farm. 

They Ayala executives  also met Bacolod City  Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez and Victorias City Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez, Negros Association of Chief Executives president. 

 They also met with  their Negrense clients  at a Client Appreciation Cocktail Party  at the Central Hall of Ayala Malls Capitol Central in Bacolod on Friday.*
