Authorities discovered another alleged illegal cigarette warehouse in Bago City, Negros Occidental, on Tuesday, May 12.
The operation was conducted in Purok Pulang Duta, Brgy. Lag-asan.
Police said raw materials and packaging supplies allegedly used in manufacturing and packing of cigarettes were recovered from the area.
Authorities also seized a Ford Ranger pickup and an Isuzu wing van truck at the site.
The caretaker of the warehouse, identified as alias “Jo,” 29, of Bacolod City, was arrested during the operation.
Police said the alleged warehouse owner, identified as alias “Ber,” of Bacolod City, and the warehouse operations manager, alias “Ab,” of Bago City, remain at large.
The operation was conducted by the Philippine National Police and the Bago City Permit and Licensing Office.
Authorities said the discovery is connected to the ongoing investigation into an earlier cigarette manufacturing warehouse uncovered in Brgy. Calumangan, Bago City on April 21.*
