Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez said he has received a letter of intent from a Manila-based firm to be the second concessionaire for water distribution in Bacolod City.
He is inclined to accept the proposal, Benitez said during his weekly press conference on Monday, January 8.
The proponent is one of the two water concessionaires in Metro Manila, he said.
The Bacolod City Water District-Primewater currently serves the water needs of Bacolod City. There have been numerous complaints from Bacolod residents about its water services.
The mayor called on Bacolod water consumers to report their water experiences so the situation can be looked into.
He said Baciwa-Primewater gave him a very colorful presentation on how water services in Bacolod are much better than in the past.
Benitez, however, said he will not be deaf to the cry of Bacolod residents with respect to water.*
