96 Victorias hog raisers get aid

Ninety-six Victorias City hog raisers affected by transboundary animal diseases received financial aid of P2,000 each from the Negros Occidental provincial government on Tuesday, February 20.

Victorias City Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez thanked the provincial government led by Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson for the financial assistance that will aid the beneficiaries in their economic recovery, the Victorias public information office reported.

Benitez also cited the different initiatives and interventions of the Victorias City government during the outbreak of African Swine Fever, which included insurance granted by the Philippine Crop Insurance Corp. and the LGU, Livestock Dispersal, and ASF Prevention Programs.*
